High-Bandwidth AFM-Based Rheology Reveals that Cartilage is Most Sensitive to High Loading Rates at Early Stages of Impairment

ScienceDirect.com - Biophysical Journal - High-Bandwidth AFM-Based Rheology Reveals that Cartilage is Most Sensitive to High Loading Rates at Early Stages of Impairment

Study shows that if you have lost some of the important proteins in the structure of cartilage after injury the cartilage is at its most vulnerable, exercises like running are not recommended.

However I know that you runners do not want to stop, and in many instances will not stop, but if you use your head, and transition to a different exercise maybe you can avoid more rapid degeneration of the cartilage and delay things like osteoarthritis from occuring.

Study finds meniscus allograft allows return-to-sport for competitive athletes | Orthopedics

Study finds meniscus allograft allows return-to-sport for competitive athletes | Orthopedics

This is contrary to what our European colleagues have reported in Amsterdam and Ghent have reported.  Maybe it has little to do with the meniscus, maybe more to do with concomitant cartilage procedures?
